Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills Village, CO experienced a fabulous Veterans’ Appreciation Dinner and Concert by the Sons and Brothers Band from Canon City, CO recently and all who gathered together — some 150 for the concert and 90 for the dinner — were thrilled. Pastor Ron Roschke from the Rocky Mountain Synod (RMS) Staff delivered an appeal for funds to help support Operation One Nation efforts. He delivered a powerful message around the tragic events of the past two days in Paris, the need for military members to take up the difficult task of answering our nation’s call and also the need for us to support them as they return home as well as those who have already “gone before”-veterans.
Operation One Nation partners with several efforts in support of veterans in the Denver, CO area. They are using healing interventions such as Healing Touch, Centus Counseling, the use of the hyperbaric chamber to relieve the stresses of PTSD victims and much more. One Nation tells the story of one testimony of a wounded veteran who was twice divorced due to multiple deployments, wounded nine times, into alcohol and more. Fortunately he is happily remarried and found a new path to wellness with the help of prayer, counseling intervention and Project Sanctuary (another One Nation partner). He is now on the Project Sanctuary staff as a volunteer.
